Hi my name is Mike Adams, I'm in my mid 40's with a wonderful wife and four kids ranging from 14 to 7 years of age.  My father passed on his outdoor passion to me when I was a young child.  He took me through the woods of Michigan teaching me the hunting ways of life.  As I grew older I took my first Michigan buck at 17 years of age.  I took my first Michigan Black Bear in 2000, and my first Eastern Wild Turkey in 2004.  Last year I went duck and goose hunting with my oldest son for the first time and took my first duck, we also were fortunate enough to do some rabbit hunting as well.  This January I also took my first coyote.  I have had the fortune of hunting the woods and fishing the waters of Michigan for some time.  It is now time for me to pass along that passion to my children and anyone else who wishes to come along for the ride.  We here at the Up North Journal focus on passing that information along to new hunters and young hunters.  We love to see the smiles on the kids faces when they see a bullseye hit with an arrow or a bullet.  Getting kids involved is our goal to help pass along our great outdoor heritage.  As we like to say here at the Up North Journal "Shoot Straight and Be Safe".  If you would like to contact me feel free to email me at michaeladams@upnorthjournal.com

Hey guys my name is Mike Adams, I'm 14 and have a very strong passion for the outdoors. I have been fishing since I could pick up my rod and I have been hunting for only 2 years now due to hunting laws here in Michigan. If you listen to the podcast on a regular basis you know I have been starting to fly fish, I only fish for Bluegills but its a blast watching that small rod bend and a little fish fight so hard.  Last year I bought a boat (before my dad, had to throw that in) and it is my duck blind/ fishing rig. I currently hunt for, small game, waterfowl, turkey, bear, and soon to come elk. I love to rifle hunt, but archery is much more exciting! I fish for basically anything that swims and likes what I tie up. I also tie flies, it is very relaxing and it feels so amazing when you catch a fish on something that you took time to make. That’s an overview of me and for more of my adventures check it out on the Up North Journal podcast. Shoot Straight & Be Safe!!!! If you would like to contact Mike Jr. e-mail him at mikeysgamebag@upnorthjournal.com

Hey everyone, I was born and raised in Lower Michigan. I grew up riding horses and enjoying the outdoors with my family. Since both my parents were educators, every summer we hit the road for several weeks camping across the country (tent camping). Now that I have my own kids (2 wonderful girls), I am enjoying introducing them to the outdoors and the hunting sports. I’ve been deer hunting since I was 16 (been hunting small game forever…).Both my girls are getting ready for their first deer hunt that they will get an opportunity (hopefully) to take their first deer. I’ve known Mike for 25 years now (old, old, old), we’ve been getting each other in trouble for as long as I can remember. We could probably have our own show just on the stories we’ve created over the years… I love bow hunting and spending quiet time in the woods. My favorite gun is my Raging Bull 454 (recently camo dipped) and now my Tikka T3 that my wife (Katrina) bought for me last year for our anniversary. The picture above shows my 9 point that was taken with the T3. I am forever grateful to Mike for making me part of the Up North Journal team and giving me an opportunity to help get more kids (and adults) into the hunting sports, teaching them about the outdoors and giving them a chance to learn. Lets Go Hunting Everyone!  You can contact me at Kevin@mossyoakprostaff.com

I was born and raised in Holly, Michigan, with a few years spent in Fenton, Michigan.  I also spent all of my childhood summers on Case's Island in Lake Fenton where my father taught me all he knew about fishing.  After many years of exploring this wonderful state of Michigan, I am now back in Holly where I grew up and am raising a family of my own with my wonderful wife, Casey.   I have 3 children.  Dillon is 7, Kai is 5, and Caitly is 4 and all three love the outdoors.  I am, compared to most, still somewhat new to hunting, but I have done and learned a lot in this last year and I hope to learn and share more.

If I had to choose one type of animal to hunt for the rest of my life and no other, I would have to pick waterfowl.  I look at everyday as one less day until waterfowl season.  But, luckily, I don't have to pick!  If you would like to contact me you can email me at chuckyd157@yahoo.com

Tim lives in southern Michigan and has been hunting and fishing for as long as he can remember.  He started out fishing at an early age with his dad and his love of fishing has grown from there.  He primarily fishes inland lakes for bass but has a longing to one day to fish Saginaw Bay for walleyes although he will fish for anything that swims.  Tim is also an avid turkey and deer hunter and has been deer hunting ever since he was old enough to hunt by himself.  His favorite way to hunt deer is with a bow.  In addition to turkey and deer hunting he loves to go grouse hunting in the upper peninsula of Michigan and really cherishes the rare occasions that he gets up there to do it.

Tim is married to wife Tracey and has 3 kids, Paul who is 9, Colin who is 8, and Katherine who is 3 and loves spending time with them.  His latest passion has been sharing his love of the outdoors with his kids and teaching them about hunting and fishing.  If you would like to contact Tim you can email him at taford@comcast.net
